It makes me a bit sad but if he's found a way of sparing himself a bit of work, fair enough.

  3. Probably because that face has become the face of the channel. Also, Zaluzhny has not been "exiled" - he is now Ukraine's ambassador to the UK. Which will, incidentally, give him the political experience to run for president in future, if he wishes to do so.

Or anyone fundraising for their own unit - I follow a lovely guy from Kholodniy Yar, the channel is Motolife (it was a biking channel that he repurposed when he joined up on 25.02.22). It's in Ukrainian but with dedicated English subs that are a bit better than autotranslate. There's also Madyar, the great drone daddy of the UAF 😊

But AI doesn't deal well with multilingual content, so while it replicates his voice, accent and cadence quite well, it messes up the place names that he used to pronounce with a perfect Ukrainian accent. I'm going to email the channel about it because I'm worried about this starting to hurt their credibility.

  18.  @etcetera--nine  It's not so much names that AI has a problem with, I think it's anything in a language other than the main language it's been programmed to reproduce. Whereas a bilingual speaker can choose to pronounce those words in the native accent of whatever language they belong to, while speaking another language. AI is not my area either, but I've been to a couple of seminars recently because of work (I'm a human translator).

  24. If Ukraine surrenders, there's no more Ukraine (and their resources will be used by russia to wage war on other countries). So it makes no sense for them to surrender, no matter how bad this is. If russia surrenders, there's no more war. And russians will stop dying for nothing. So maybe stop trolling this channel and start pestering russians to do the only sensible thing at this point and pull out of Ukraine.

I think what happens is that the AI tries every possible way that an English speaker with that accent (i.e. what it's been asked to replicate) would pronounce that particular word. It's actually interesting to see how AI tries and fails to cope with the situation, but not good for the channel at all.

  51.  @tomme3913  OK, so that proves my point that you don't watch these updates regularly, and therefore you have no business saying things like "Never a negative report", "this is just propaganda", etc. In the video you did apparently watch, he was informing his subscribers that the RfU channels had been demonetized - because of bot activity, so basically your industry - and was understandably asking for support. Which he got. And as a result, the channels are still up and you bots may have managed to affect his activity for a while but eventually failed in your attempt to erase him. Kind of like your employer in Ukraine.
