  1.  @SteveMoby  That's been true so far, but it seems to be actually changing - because this is happening on our actual continent. Also, unlike the US, European countries have already been through fascism, and for all their wobbles they still have some immunity to it: that is, they catch it again and again but mostly manage to fight it off. The US caught it and is now in a coma.

  8.  @AllanMogensen  I expect Ukraine to have considered this possibility, as shocked as they understably are by this appalling betrayal. They're pretty on the ball. But yes, there is a massive risk of trump beginning to use the USA's oversized resources to actively help putin.
