@gloomy5487 Ukraine chose to become part of the EU - they only want to be part of NATO because there is no other alliance that will protect them from their murderous neighbour. Ukraine could have been full of NATO bases and russia would have still been completely safe from invasion... because it's full of nukes. No one would have decided to invade russia, besides Western countries were happy to do business with them and let russian oligarchs park their ill-gotten money in their cities... the only threat would have been to putin's long-term plan to invade Ukraine and use its people and resources to keep taking over European countries.
