  8. This channel started voicing videos with AI after the guy whose voice we've been hearing for over two years came back from being off sick for a month. I used to teach myself how to pronounce Ukrainian place names from these videos, so I really noticed the difference. I imagine that his voice is a big part of the channel (like Zaluzhniy's face on the thumbnail!) so it's something they would want to keep even when he's not able to record the voiceover personally - there is now a team of people working on these updates, and it's also possible that he's the only one with the skills to provide such a professional and clear voiceover. The AI does replicate his voice and accent almost perfectly but doesn't deal well with multilingual content, for example Ukrainian words within an English-language text. That results in the incorrect and inconsistent pronunciations of Ukrainian words we now hear in these updates. It's a shame, and I do worry about it affecting the channel's credibility - I did email them about it and they even replied, but in the end I understand that there's only so much they can do.

  9.  @alanpartridge6024  There is a lot between "overwhelmed" and "not looking good". We need to learn not to buy into panicky language, which is ultimately induced by well-planned russian psychological warfare.

  11.  @asdnetwork4268  Thank you for your recommendations, that's what I've been doing for over two years - except that I do listen to Ukrainian sources and the thing is, there is no actual disparity between the facts of what they report compared to mainstream media in various other countries. Interesting trolling technique btw, worth a few extra roubles maybe

  12. RfU is a team of people. For all we know, the guy voicing the videos could be exempt from the draft for any number of reasons (single parent, disabled veteran, etc). Also, he no longer voices the videos daily, they started using AI at the beginning of this year after he was off sick for a whole month. The man himself may well be on the frontline now.

What we all know is that over two years ago now, Ukraine made a decision not to make their losses public until the end of the war, to keep every possible advantage in this asymmetric conflict. No one is pretending that Ukrainians aren't dying, in this disgusting and totally unnecessary war started by russia.
