The - very apt - comparison you made at the beginning shows that it still makes more sense to compare russia's behaviour towards Ukraine to Israel's behaviour towards Palestine: meaning, simply, that we all need to stop making these comparisons, because while there are similarities here and there (and russia's grubby paws are definitely implicated in this latest crisis in the Middle East) these situations are vastly different from each other, and broad, shallow analogies are mostly confusing. We are capable of recognising responsibility and causability, and most of all we know how to empathise with suffering and call out any logic that gives anyone a licence to kill indiscriminately: so let's do that, it's what is needed.
