  6.  @andrewboddy2791  Thank you, that rings a bell now - I think Timothy Snyder brought it up in one of his lectures on The Making of Modern Ukraine, last year. Very important word to remember, because sadly the concept doesn't seem to have gone out of fashion

  11. The MAGA crowd definitely have a lot in common with today's russians... then again, the rf figures large in their origin story so it's understandable. But there's actually a critical mass of Americans who understand when their country is and isn't at risk, that's why so many people were vocally against the wars in the Middle East, for example.

I'm also wondering if he's gay, though some of the pictures of him in drag are apparently modelling shots of a different guy (an Irish-born Ukrainian model who has nothing to do with the propagandist's family).

Because 1) the 1420 guys can't go to Kyiv (actual transliteration of the Ukrainian spelling, finally in use worldwide, if you hadn't noticed), because they're russian citizens, and 2) Ukrainians are fighting off the genocidal invasion of their sovereign country by a nation they posed no threat to, which has already attempted to wipe them out in the past. So there is really no comparison.
