Hey, Leva, 21, system administrator (whatever that means): you didn't "adopt" those territories in 2014, you invaded them 🤬 And I'm saying "you" because you said "we".

@СергейМонин-д7с It matters because many of those ethnic russian inhabitants settled in Crimea after the native population was deported (which amounts to genocide, particularly considering how many Crimean Tatars died before reaching their enforced destination). The tone of your response indicates that your "Crimean" relatives are probably descended from those russians. Again, a substantial number of people was displaced after russia invaded Crimea in 2014, because, understandably, they didn't want to live under russian rule. One thing the whole world is now learning about russians, is that you have a way of clearing a territory of huge numbers of its original inhabitants - by deportation, starvation, intimidation or just plain mass murder - before counting who's left and decide that because of their first language and/or ethnicity, clearly the territory belongs to you and was in fact always yours. Crimea is Ukraine and the russians who settled there after 2014 (as well as all those who want to live on russian rather than Ukrainian territory) will soon be making the reverse journey.

@Carol.Allison I didn't either, and it makes me appreciate her even more but also, how tragic that an intelligent and morally decent person - who's already taking a risk by saying some of the things she did say out loud - has to resort to something like that to express her opinion 🥺

@AG-vb6vv The people of Crimea did decide for themselves. In 1991, they voted to remain in Ukraine.

@Imaxxd22 I've heard from other people who are from Crimea and they firmly want Crimea to be part of Ukraine. So having Crimean family members is not a shield you can use to deflect criticism for spamming this thread with a bunch of kremlin propaganda.

@yellowtunes2756 But the battlefield doesn't work like that - advancing armies don't move at the same pace right throughout an offensive or counteroffensive. Typically, once crucial supply lines are cut, a lot of territory is liberated at once.

🤣 You mean the 55-year-old...?🤣

@yellowtunes2756 I decide how much of my time I put into replying to trolls on YT and when it's not worth it anymore. Unlike you, I'm not paid to write these comments. As for "western propaganda" 🤣 Daniil made an interesting point about that last night's live stream. You know, the other video you've probably been instructed to troll. All the topics have time signatures so it's not even that hard to go there and hear it for yourself

@PUARockstar I fully agree with you and I'm so sorry your home was damaged - was it destroyed or can it be repaired? At least, from what you wrote, it sounds like your family wasn't injured... I hope you have a good place to live now. Love and solidarity from London. Переможете💙💛

@AG-vb6vv The people of Scotland voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU in 2016 but they still had to leave it. The ruling party of Scotland is openly working towards a second independence referendum - but that will only take place once the government of the country that Scotland is currently in gives the green light for that referendum to to be legally held. And no heavily armed men in anonymous uniforms without visible insignia will have anything to do with it.

@yellowtunes2756 Thanks for demonstrating once again either to our complete lack of understanding or your dedication to trolling. Possibly both

@yellowtunes2756 I am unwilling to waste time on people who wilfully spread misinformation in support of a country's genocidal policies. Which has very little to do with facts.

@videowa4er If Daniil reminds of prigozhin, you obviously think of prigozhin way too much for your own good🤣 If you can bear to look at military maps you will see that Ukraine is advancing steadily in several location, breaking through lines of defence that our stupid cowardly western governments gave the orcs plenty of time to build. Слава Україні💙💛

@carelgoodheir692 Thanks for putting it so well. I would just like to add one word: "the locally powerful men turned to the Taliban". I doubt most women would have considered that course of action, since they knew exactly what would become of them if those people were to regain power. And considering how many men are also suffering under the current regime, I wouldn't say that most of those who went along with the US's disastrously misjudged reforms did so just to enrich themselves.

@RainerMichelle Some people are, but that's because they were historically disadvantaged by a number of other factors. Nothing comparable to the suffering of Ukrainians. And many citizens of the rf were already suffering, and now things are getting worse for them as well as for some of the people who were doing fine before... and they have decades of this, and worse, to look forward to.

People need to stop comparing Afghanistan with Ukraine - completely different set of circumstances.

@Crillian44 Of course this person believes putin's narratives about the Donbas - they are paid to repeat it endlessly all over social media.

13ased_American I agree - and sadly they never will be - but to bring this up in a discussion about russia's war against Ukraine is just whataboutism that ultimately plays in the hands of the kremlin, whether you mean it to or not
1
@Imaxxd22 I for one am fully intending to visit Crimea once it's been liberated from the lying, raping, murdering fascists that have been occupying it since 2014 😊

@AG-vb6vv The mental gymnastics required to equate Ukraine with the russian and British empires is quite impressive. Ukraine never invaded Crimea. It never oppressed the Crimean people. Just like every election in russia since the end of the russian empire, that referendum was phony, and you know that as well as everybody else.

@Imaxxd22 You don't seem to have noticed that you've been communicating with a bunch of people who have educated themselves on these events and issues. That's how we all immediately know that each of your posts is nothing more than regurgitated kremlin propaganda.

@dns7587 Ukrainians only speak russian because either they or their ancestors were forced to learn it and speak it. If Ukrainians and russians were "the same", as you say, wouldn't russians also speak Ukrainian? Because by and large they don't, unless they've made a real effort.
