I'm not in the habit of copying and pasting all over a comment section, but a reply I left to someone else just above also fits in this thread (probably because the whataboutism at the root of your comment is a fairly common response to this kind of discussion). So here it is: Corruption, like many other phenomena, is on a spectrum. It's perfectly possible to admit that you have corruption in the US - no one would be surprised by that - without saying that you have "just as much" as the rf. We most definitely have corruption in the UK, where I live (we also brand it differently), but there's no way it's as bad (i.e. widespread and entrenched) as in the country where I was born - Italy. Broad, shallow generalisations like the one you're making here simply play into the propaganda of regimes such as putin's, which are propped up almost entirely by corruption.
