@chrisdurham109 So maga voters have a sort of Stockholm Syndrome? That makes sense. I think we should repurpose the idiotic phrase "trump derangement syndrome" to describe that - before it gets used to justify punitive psychiatry, which is already in the works... My only problem with it is that it somehow absolves maga cult members from responsibility, by making them into victims that need rescuing. I'm still trying to get my head around this issue of accountability when it comes to them.

The people in this video have left so they can continue to resist in the most effective way. They left because they know they would soon be very effectively silenced, and they want to keep making noise. Of course they're not more important than anyone else who's currently in danger or suffering, but their platform, commitment and expertise make them very valuable to the rest of the world. It's not like they ran off to a private island.

@rogerc23 He is undeniably concentrating more and more of the power onto himself, thereby eroding the checks and balances built into the US political system to prevent authoritarianism. He's taking action to silence his opponents and critics in the press and educational institutions. His administration has started to "disappear" people, which is allowing them to create a system whereby anyone who publicly disagrees with trump can be arbitrarily thrown into prison. There. That's three things.
