  1. That reminded me of a wonderful novel I read a few years ago - "Sarah Canary" by Karen Joy Fowler. The setting was railways rather than mining, but looking at those pictures really was like looking at the novel's protagonist. If you haven't read it, I recommend it! If you have, I'd love to know what you think ☺
