They deserve recognition and respect - and they deserve to be listened to! They're much more likely to be right about this situation than most Western talking heads.

I'm so grateful to Jon and everyone at TDS for being honest about this man's background while also showing in such a brilliant way that he has more dignity, integrity and promise than the new "leader of the free world". Of course it's early days, I know the problems in Syria are far from over and there are many unknowns and huge wounds to heal... but I wish you and your people the best from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for resisting all the years, thank you for not giving up! And a personal thank you for making me feel a little bit of hope at such an awful time for the world. ❤🤍💚🖤

  17. I live in a ground-floor flat (yes, in London, that's why I say "flat"). Some of my windows open over the end of a close in the middle of a big housing estate. The summer I was sweating over my MA dissertation, some dude who'd moved back in with his grandmother on the close would spend HOURS sitting in his idling car parked right UNDER my window, often on the phone and sometimes doing balloons and giggling inanely. So even without the idling engine, it would have been an immense irritation, but the engine was IDLING. The following summer it was lockdown, and everything that was happening on the close got about 100% worse.

I hope that once she's done with her MA she'll go on to do more great things. This is one person I want to see in US politics when she's in her 80s.

  29.  @MilesKrepelka-k2c  I'm not in or from the US - I'm one of the billions who never got the chance to vote against what's happening there right now, even though it affects us all. And frankly, I don't care about trump himself - he's one of those people who will never suffer a fraction of the pain and damage they're causing. Losing states though, or even just the emergence or expansion of an independence movement in some states, would be a serious blow to the foundation of maga, and that's what needs to be weakened for the US to have a chance to get through the current zombie apocalypse.

However, as someone who's pretty involved in your politics from the outside (UK-based European migrant), I'll take this opportunity to remind all the US citizens in this thread that your elections are in fact a concern to everyone in the world... because they have the potential to affect everyone in the world. Believe me when I tell you that I'd LOVE not to care about your elections. Foreigners having strong opinions on your politics is what Americans get for having a huge amount of national wealth and power. And I do realise that many of you aren't aware of this and don't feel that wealth and power - because of how badly distributed it is. Still, in case anyone is wondering why so many of us outside the US are so heavily invested in your neverending, convoluted electoral process... that's why.

Then again, looking at gun laws in the US, it's pretty clear that precious little common sense makes into your decision-making structures.

  50. I love her! She's a great TDS correspondent and I hope to see her interviewed on late night shows, especially by Stephen Colbert - it's always fun when he has a TDS guest and they start talking shop. But I hope I see her in more things, TV and movies even.
