  1. Is Kaliningrad a threat to Sweden, or is Sweden more of a threat to Kaliningrad? Kaliningrad is a great place for Russia to place missiles and thereby menace NATO, but as a naval base it is useless - it is surrounded by NATO.

  3. Can Kaliningrad make it as an independent country? I don't think any of their bordering countries want to absorb 1,000,000 Russians. Do Kaliningraders want independence? I can't imagine Putin tolerating this, especially if they decided to join NATO.
