  2. Well, if Ukraine is too cold for them, I'm not too sure how they might fare in Northern Alaska. And if they are afraid of rats, try wolverines and polar bears. Not many opportunities to loot food either. The place is pretty sparsely populated, and the people who are there have rifles. No, Alaska is not fertile ground for Russian expansion any more.
