WRONG! You sound like you're just spreading false equivalency propaganda or just being a "useful idiot" for China. China is not special and not irreplaceable. FIRST: it was Bill Clinton that pushed through the PNTR with China Act and advocated for them to enter the WTO. These actions were wisely prevented from being done for the Soviet Union by prior administrations for the exact reasons that we and the world are dealing with today. SECOND: There were always cheaper products made by developing countries. After WW2 it was Japan. Stamped metal Made in Japan toys are collectables today. After 1949, Made in Taiwan became very common. in the 80's and 90's, it was Made in Korea. PRC China was different because it was still the greatest national security threat, after the fall of the Soviet Union, when they were given permanent access to our markets, as a gesture of good faith and good will towards the PEOPLE of China, Under Bill Clinton. China's economy is not a free market economy and is under the absolute control of its one party government. It always has and still violates most WTO rules with impunity, and does so because the WTO lacks the ability regulate its members. All of the reasons why the Soviet Union was never allowed full membership. Today, we can only suspect if Bill was just extremely gullible or simply corrupted and complicit. His political origins and associations before and during his tenure as governor of Arkansas, under scrutiny, can reflect that it is very likely he acted very unethically at the very least. That is why its so verdant and self sustaining to still be the greatest in the world. China's is dependent on exports because its domestic economy is so throttled and corrupted that it is suffering from deflation, from joblessness and overproduction of goods. CHINA'S REAL ESTATE MARKET IS A GOVERNMENT PONZI SCHEME. AND INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENTS IN CHINA ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY EVAPORATED TODAY.

But stuff isn't made in most places around the world because of anticompetitive economic policies by the Chinese Government controlled business practices in China. Such as through government subsidies, state owned corporations, and anti competitive product dumping. Violating WTO rules. All of the sacrifice was meant to increase freedoms and standards of living in China. It's had the opposite effects in China and now the attitude of Westerners towards Chinese authoritarianism.
