The whole family seems to display dissociative characteristics. I also think a crucial change and opportunity was missed in Sonny's personality when he wanted to be home schooled. Also the timing and circumstances surrounding his sister's return home seems curiously inconsequential, when it could have been the trigger to his psychotic break. The only time we hear of recent circumstances regarding his sister's return home, was from Sonny during his questioning. The timing seems to be too obvious to ignore. It's as if the dissociation has been used as a coping mechanism for most of the children's lives, and possibly even reinforced as a suitable remedy for dealing with life's traumas that all individuals experience to some degree. Instead of acknowledging and processing them in a healthy way that provides the acceptance, sense of security, and closure, that are ultimately the only true remedies for overcoming and resolving the traumatic experiences and their affects. It seems the dissociations used to cope with the symptoms only delayed and compounded the negative psychological affects to manifest themselves through Sonny's psychotic break. Where hid conscience and sanity broke apart and collapsed like a bursting dam.

it was a hate crime. if everything she said was said by a white women, she would have gotten the charge an it would have been publicized. anyone pretending it wasn't only reveals the same hate.
