Satellite recon still depends on clear weather. so the point is.....there is something out there that the US probably does have that is operational. whatever it's called. the engine technology for the SR-71 was kept secret but they kept funding research and development for similar propulsion technology. the current research sighted is for missile technology and also for fighters. Whatever you want to call it does not sound like a missile or a fighter plane.
