The CCP has become an overstaying entity people feel should be kicked out. Xi must be having sleepless nights as a faction within the Party may emerge to challenge his rule. That's why the rhetoric on Taiwan is pushed upfront. Distract, then rally support by calling for unity. Let's see if they can still pull off a Tiananmen 2.0 as protests grow.
