  2. The so-called "anti-corruption purge" is a sham. A paranoid ruler is using it as a pretense to put his loyalists into position to solidify his hold to power. Corruption in the Chinese military will not diminish a bit as a new set of corrupt official take their turn to steal. Corruption will get worse and more disenchantment with the leadership will emerge as soldiers see their pay get cutbacks due to the state's financial crunch.
