That's why even farmers themselves won't consume them, or turn them into strawberry jams with longer shelf life. They use too much pesticides & growth hormones. That guy saying it's not about pesticide scare was trying to downplay it.

If they're even real veggies.

Real water fit for consumption is now a luxury in China. 80% of their surface & ground water is unfit for any consumption due to pollution & contamination.

The ongoing outbreak of multiple virus is now driving home the point of safe & quality food. Sickness or a trip to the hospitals can now cost a fortune. Health is wealth.

Time is money for the Chinese. They want to make money at the shortest possible time. That's why they copy/pirate IPs & technologies for minimal R & D, and use growth hormones to get their produce growth bigger & faster. Less time & effort.

The tragedy of deflation. Still no takers even at giveaway prices. And the CCP has been advising the unemployed citizens to go back to their hometowns to farm or start a business? In this kind of system, who would be incentivized to do so if you lose more money? Why invest time & effort if you can't earn?

Sam's Club shops in China are crowded with shoppers willing to buy even at higher prices than those in typical Chinese shops. There are people who can afford to buy food which is an essential. The problem is they don't trust those farmers' produce due to toxic chemicals & growth hormones they use in their farms.

Soup kitchens are a sign of poverty. CCP said there's no poverty in China. Go figure.
