  2. Countries who are willing to trust them that their 'gold' is the real thing, not fake gold. They will use it to buy what they need if the yua/Rmb is sanctioned.

  3. Hoarding huge amounts of gold reserves for trade is useless if trading partners don't have confidence that the gold that you will use are not just some metal plated with gold. China had been exposed doing it in the past so countries will be wary of Chinese 'gold'.
