  1. Earthquakes of varying magnitudes happen everywhere on the planes. Most were barely perceptible. It's not a matter of an earthquake happening. It's where it will hit. You can't vector the location even with the available technology today. What you can do is to prepare for it and not to panic. Given that, it was absolutely despicable how the CCP treated the survivors like they were trash, depriving them of much-needed aid basically leaving them to fend for themselves in freezing cold amidst the devastation. The authorities were more interested in propaganda and showing off than actual relief efforts.
