  1. This was a typical CCP-sanctioned project haphazardly-done to meet unrealistic deadlines set by the Party. Bringing in heavy equipment sped up the work but not necessarily made work a quality one, just like their tofu-dreg infrastructures. Impressive outside, shoddy inside. A huge waste of time and resources with nothing to show in the end.

  3. I will give that expert guy the benefit of tbe doubt. I bet he knows the idea was stupid, but had to give his seal of approval to lend the project some credibility the CCP was advocating it.

  9. Just because a so-called "expert" say it's doable doesn't mean that you heed his advice. It's not "one size fits all" approach as many factors are to be considered. Soil quality, weather, water sources, terrain, etc. CCP loves grandiose projects to show that they can tame nature (like the Three Gorges Dam) using technology. Well, Mother Nature gave them a kick in the **s this time. All they can show for their trouble: denuded hillsides, landslides, cascading waterfalls washing out the crops, and flooded villages. No crops, ruined mountains, miserable farmers. What a shame. I bet the CCP will be pinning the blame on the farmers for "lack of socialist spirit" or any other BS. The Party is always right.
