China's rapid development came at a huge long-term cost. "Build, and they will come" seems to be the guiding policy with haphazard planning just to build everything too soon without regard for necessity and sustainability. Now, China is sinking, literally and figuratively.

When you were taught even at young age that lying and cheating is a sign of being smart, then lying becomes second nature to you next to breathing.
15
Unemployment must be so bad when a job posting for basically prostitutes are advertised in universities. Cut-throat times for scarce jobs ahead.
15
Bus drivers : "You owe us 16 months of unpaid salaries. We can no longer work for free. Pay us!" CCP : "Thank you for your hard work and support to the Party. We expect you to continue working and giving your utmost best for the good of China".
13
As long as the regime prioritizes ideology over economy, the country will continue to sink. Chinese people themselves should take the initiative. One billion versus 100 million is a lopsided fight if they are willing.
12
Who would go to those viewing of real estate projects when every one knows they're scams designed to rob buyers of their hard-earned money?
12
Raise prices for water that is barely drinkable? That's double scam.
12
A guy displaying remarkable maturity while an old man acting like a juvenile delinquent by acting like a spoiled brat.

I'm sure there will be a lot meat options in the street foods nowadays. If I were a resident on one of those buildings, i would be wary about hoisting those cars on the roof tops. Knowing that many of China's buildings are tofu-dregs, it may collapse on my head due to the added weight above.

Even sports was not spared of corruption. So how can people believe that those athletes they send to international sports were legit deserving and not some product of rigging and manipulation?
8
What a disgusting behavior. Defecating on a public square like Tiananmen? It must be a subtle message to authorities. Whatever the reason, the solution is obvious: install portalets in strategic points within the square and make sure it's well-maintained. That factory fire sounds intentional. With so many factories idle or closed down due to the business slump, somebody decided to "liquidate" his non-performing asset so he could collect insurance.
8
That red skies indicates high air pollution levels. Too much suspended particles in the atmosphere reflecting late afternoon sunlight. Wonderful display like the borealis except that it's deadly to human health.
7
The Chinese government seems more interested collecting payments rather than attending to the people's immediate needs after the disaster. Such callousness.
7
What's next? Shared underwear? Shared toothbrushes? Shared towels?
7
Does the government think that public-shaming debtors will suddenly put money in their hands? You can't squeeze blood out of stone🤣🤣
6
Even if condo units are practically given away for free, buyers know those are poorly-constructed dwellings which will need a fortune to retro-fit just to become fairly habitable. More trouble than they are worth.
6
As long as the food hasn't gone bad, selling leftover (as long as reheated) isn't that bad. When times are tough, you have to economize, and leftovers help minimize wastage. The real question is: Are the food being sold REAL food in the first place?
6
Getting xenophobic and belligerent to foreigners wasn't a such good idea after all. Now being forced to eat humble pie or suffer food shortages makes China's 'tough-guy' image laughable.
6
The guy willing to sacrifice 1.4 billion people in a nuclear war to take Taiwan has the same casual mindset as Stalin and Hitler that one can't help but wonder if he's joking or not. Advocating for an all-out war while in the comforts of America does sounds like so callous. No wonder Chinese netizens were pissed off.
5
To be fair, that BRI gathering had a fair number of big names in international scene, but the photo-ops can qualify as a gallery of rogues. I wonder why Kim Jong Un wasn'tr tbere?
5
1:30 I was not aware until now the Kim Jong Un has been moonlighting as a police officer in China🤣. On the serious side, why were they surprised that women join the Chinese version of OnlyFans? Women do what they have to do when times are tough, or they starve. The CCP must be in denial if they never expect how bad things are.
5
They almost missed installing a horn on their planes.
5
Yeah. Plant rice and other crops then watch as locusts-like villagers and strangers swarm your field taking anything and everything edible just before harvesting, leaving you with nothing. Let's see how long before these urban-bred farmers return to the cities more desperate than ever for jobs. This is going to be interesting.

The span @ 9:52 looked like it toppled to one side. Was that span just placed on top of those pillars? I don't see any beams nor rebar on those pillars. Another example of the standard Chinese construction. The corruption is making their country a virtual hazard to life and safety.
5
If you eat bugs and insects for streetfood, why should a caterpillar make you cringe? At least, it was sauteed. LOL
5
Adulterated/fake food, gutter oil, toxic substances, etc. "Wow, so good!"
5
It seems Chinese people knew what happened behind the scenes regarding Li Keqiang's death. A case of an insecure ruler eliminating a potential challenger to his power? I think this also happened a century before next door when a certain guy embarked on a purge that decimated his own regime of competent officials.
5
Almost all the videos have one underlying cause: corruption. Standard cutting corners resulting to substandard or shoddy construction endangering people's lives. The last one will get common as prolonged economic downturn and unemployment persists. Young people becoming grab hag queueing at free food sample booths just to have a meal for the day. A real bad sign.
5
These scholarships must be included in those deals China signs under Belt and Road Initiative. That's why only countries in BRI are provided with these arrangement. China knows the attraction of these "soft power" diplomacy. The female companions given to foreign male scholars are to make their stay more exciting and less boring.
5
Shrewd work by the CCP. Hiring new grads for unspecified length of time then terminating them arbitrarily. They can now say, "OK, lads. You have now something to write under 'work experience' in your resume".
5
Those crocs missed the CCP party congress months ago. Am sure their fellow CCP cadres missed their attendance.
4
Failures and massive debt are looked down as a loser in east Asian cultures like China. Taking the quickest route rather than lose face in society. With more bankruptcies and more debt predicted this year, sadly more people will choose this path.
4
I don't know, but something tells me that driving people who have been trained to handle and shoot guns, into desperation, is a very good idea.
4
The CCP wants foreigners to personally experience their distinct air quality😁
4
Then why is it that they extend these scholarships only to tbose countries under BRI? This is part of the package, a sweetener to win more countries to expand China's influence through "soft" power.
4
The BRICS should be it. They could pass the hat around for some loose change.
4
Water leaking inside the passenger compartment? No worries. Give the passengers raincoats and umbrellas, problem solved. Steroid-tainted Australian beef? Hey, at least it's REAL beef. The authentic thing. Not the "beef" unscrupulous Chinese ram down the throats of their consumers. What's the beef?
4
"Crackdown against medical corruption"? Does that include forced organ harvesting?
4
Counting chicks before they hatch can end up backfiring on you. Being arrogant when you depend on the outside world to buy your cheap junk-quality products will not end up well.
4
A well-motivated soldier will die for his country if his leaders will give him the reason for this question: "What am I fighting for?"
4
"Jobs-for-a-fee" sounds like a scam. Even if the employer hire you, what's the guarantee that the employee will not be fired after one or two months for some imagined reasons, so another newly-hired worker can be accomodated? Only suckers will grab this. Trust the Chinese to come up with money-making scheme in whatever situation.
4
Vietnam is in a bind. China controls the flow of water to the Mekong upstream. Should China turn off the valves, the river will dry up with devastating results to agriculture. It's one of the reasons why Indochina countries straddled by the Mekong are friendly to Beijing. It is one of the places in the world where 'water diplomacy' is being applied to win cooperation.
4
Looks like some unscrupulous people don't want a private charity group to get the spotlight, and want to get their slice of the pie from the donations raised by the same group. How shameless can you get profiting from other's labors?
3
Even if that building is given for free, there won't be any takers. People know the quality of "standard" Chinese construction. Not worth the trouble.
3
They have come to fetch all CCP members for losing the Mandate of Heaven. "Time is up, guys. You screwed it big time!".
3
After his mysterious "absence", looks like Jack Ma had been "persuaded" to cooperate with the CCP. Or maybe he no longer owns AliBaba. Forced to divest his interests to some powerful big-timer. After all, what good is owning a mega-company if you end up "disappeared"?
3
Looks like the police all of a sudden became strict in law enforcement. Coming after reports that many civil servants are not being paid salaries for months now, this must be a scheme (with implicit approval of higher-ups) to "crowdsource" their salaries. I'm certain those fines they extorted, i mean collected, from violators are off-the-books, if you get the drift. Every limited amount helps.
3
Light bruises only because what fell on them were basically just sand mixed with little cement. No gravel, no rebar. Tofu dreg, anyone?
3
Why would the Chinese government encourage people to procreate when the economy is slowing down? Can the people afford more babies if they're unemployed or in debt?
3
Lied flat for SIX HOURS without moving and without falling asleep? That winner deserves more than 5,000 yuan in prize.
