  1. Turning into desalination isn't easy as it seems. It has been around since the 80's or so but did not really took off because there are serious issues, ecological and economic, to consider that had not yet been addressed to make the technology viable. Only countries that have scarce water resources, like in the Middle East, have used desalination.
