  5. Ritual status is something that can be gained and removed based on how the materials are used. Sacred things may appear to be utilitarian goods from an etic perspective, think of the fine China your grandma would store away in cabinets, never to be used. Without knowing the value attached to specific materials, all we have is conjecture based on their elaborate-ness
