  10. @Jack Snyder the biggest impact these massive infrastructure projects have are on housing. When you take hundreds of thousands of engineers, labourers, etc away from building houses - houses get more expensive

  11. @Jack Snyder housing prices are high because housing supply is low. That's the driver of all prices in the world, supply and demand. Land is becoming ever scarce because governments are holding it up (to stop urban expansion), houses are getting more expensive to build because of more and more regulations, and all of these factors are putting pressure on supply. Spending $1.3 trillion on infrastructure which pushes builders away from housing only worsens the problem
