  1.  @PhoenixtheII humans will be the last species to die. Even if the planet around us becomes uninhabitable we’ll engineer ways to extend our kind before we eventually also die. If we die, we’ll have taken down the planet with us.

  2. It’s pretty understandable why people care so much more about habitable planets than the rest. Finding other large life would be mind blowing.

  3. You can place a magnetic shield at Mars’s 1st Lagrange Point. It would shield radiation allowing us to live on the surface. And doing so would actually start the terraforming process for us. Though it’d take a long time.
