  1.  @UnnTHPS  yes! Nearly every part of the build process - from zoning laws to building codes, to permits, to labour laws has been clogging up over the past few decades. New permits have reached record lows we haven’t seen since the 60s despite housing demand being higher than ever. And the state government only makes it harder to build houses, now you have to account for the “tree cover” of your outdoor areas and ensure your toilets have reinforced walls to install metal brackets if an occupant gets injured. I’m in Australia. The problem is identical in New Zealand, Canada, the UK and the US and likely where you are as well.

  4. Yes it does. Just look at China, their rapid GDP growth has lead to the fastest rise in living standards in history. India will go through a similar transformation.
