It’s not paying for news, it’s paying for the privilege to show links. And it’s only restricted to large established news agencies. A corrupt law to protect the corrupt media

@angelzcreed6192 big tech tracks you other ways. Advertisers track you across the web, even with cookies disabled. Anyway, that’s against the point. The point shouldn’t be that we lose Google, but that this law puts the entire free web at stake, controlled by media giants and Rupert Murdoch

@angelzcreed6192 I don’t know what happened to my last comment, but it went over why DDG, incognito even a VPN isn’t really stopping you from being tracked around the internet. You have something called a digital fingerprint, essentially advertisers will look at a bunch of random data - like fonts you have installed, the browser you are using, the hardware in your device, the operative system. All this is used to create a unique identity that only you possess. https://amiunique.org/ This is a website that shows you how unique you truely are. Yet it doesn’t incorporate all the techniques advertisers use in order to get a even better picture of you. All this isn’t effected by incognito, by a VPN or by you disabling cookies.
