8:13 I wouldn't say all of their preparations were dismissed, or that they had little caution. They had withheld half of their assault force just in case a carrier made an appearance, which would have been more than enough to take on the 3 carriers America had. They also had search planes and submarines looking for American carriers. Admittedly not enough, but they did understand the possibility of carriers and were somewhat prepared.
