From every socialist society we’ve seen... it’s pretty grim. Not that happiness is a great indicator of quality of life, as many people take a lot for granted.

The causes of inequality? Some people work harder, work in better fields, build a innovative business - while others work a job flipping burgers 9 to 5. Both people are human, and in our world they can both live far more comfortably than anyone before us. But some people get more.

@i.p.7687 1. If they buy them out, what stops more businesses from forming? Unless the company controls over half of the economy - it’s going to be impossible to just keep buying them out. 2. Which is bad? The only reason a monopoly may be bad is because companies will raise prices. If they cut prices to outbid a competitor that’s just the free market at work. 3. Yep, that’s the route taken by many monopolies.

I disagree with the premise that voting systems are the reason behind it. Coming from Australia, with a preferential voting system - we’re still a two party system. It’s the natural progression of a country I believe. As the country matures, the political organisations figure out what their main motives are and two will take dominance

Capitalism is an efficient economy simply because being inefficient is a death sentence for a particular company.

That would be an awful way of selling things, simply because buyers will always go lower. And because the cost of manufacturing/producing the good stays the sane for every customer.
