Well if you care to do a bit of actual research you might find some things. - Short selling reduces the overall volatility of a stock - Short selling dampens the effects of a big sellout by adding demand. Without short selling, stock prices would fall uncontrollably

  4.  @augustuscaeser8939  but that’s not the biggest problem. Your entire idea about the companies shorting shares hurting the share price is a bit flawed. Companies will only short stocks that they believe are overvalued or the company behind the stock is flawed in sone way. Take GameStop for example. It’s a relic from a bygone era. The works has moved on from physical brick and mortar video game shops, and GameStop failed to innovate. It’s not the short sellers fault for the price drop, it’s the fundamentals of the business.
