  2. The issue is the senate. Washington DC is full of very liberal people. It’s political from both sides Personally, I think it should remain not a state. In Australia we have our capital a it’s own territory. I believe that should be the norm (unless your capital is massive, like London)

  3. My idea about it is that a countries capital shouldn’t have equal representation as it could lead to being to powerful.

  5. coffee Washington is already home to the president and congress. There is already enough representation just by having these members of congress and the president live there.

  6. coffee they live there, they can be influenced by the lobbyists, ect. The people of Washington do already vote for president, the Democrats want seats of parliament as well. Washington DC is already represented in the fact that they hold the Houses of Parliament

  7. And democracy is the friend of mob rule? So what? The us is a constitutional republic. It’s democratic, but not completely. And that’s both intentional and a good thing
