  1. Pay varies amongst states because of cost of living, the wealth of said state and of course supply and demand.

  2. Teachers may “work” for 9 hours, but remember 1 hour of it is sitting around whiles there’s a break, and most teachers will then have another free 1 hour period.

  6. Paying teachers more doesn’t solve the problem. The problem I see in the US (from an outsider point of view) is the lack of consistency, and the fact that students graduate with less knowledge than other countries around the world.

  8. I’m not American, but I can emphasise with that statement. My school puts such an emphasis on sporting events and achievements and then wonders why we are behind the median level of my state. It’s really strange. All this emphasis on something that will lead people nowhere.
