@swdev245 yeah it’s not the architecture, it’s just Intel and AMDs disregard of mobile chips. Now they’re scrambling to deliver much more efficient chips with Strix and Arrow Lake

People thing x86 vs ARM vs RISC-V is important. It isn’t. It’s just that x86 is locked to Intel and AMD, the former which purposely stopped innovating because they had market dominance. That’s why RISC-V is probably going to be the future. The more open the more competition

That’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard. Also there is no ARM vs x86, both are just as capable.

@luluthecat1570 it could be the compatibility layer, but I reckon that the frame inconsistency is more likely to be caused by Apple’s bad drivers. Many games run on Linux with a compatibility layer with no issue. Ontop of that, software is becoming more and more cross-compatible.

@luluthecat1570 check out the Jim Keller interview that LTT did. He’s a great guy (designed the Zen CPU architecture that allowed AMD to eclipse Intel), and he has a lot to say about the different architectures. He says when he was updating a system over the years from Intel -> AMD -> Arm that the hardest jump was from Intel to AMD because it was an old system that relied on a lot of proprietary code. Once that was generalised, moving it to ARM was much easier. Now he’s building a RISC-V company and he says porting from ARM to RISC-V is trivial.
