  1. You mean the federal government right? These are public student loans. No backs involved - and that’s the problem. When you have the government giving out money left right and center, you have the perfect concoction for raising tuition prices. Plus so what? Teaching is a semi-skilled job, it’s much easier to get into than say being a doctor. It’s also a very easy job on top of that it comes with school holidays and paid sick leave. Average salary’s are around $60k a year, which is really good. Plus teachers can work their way up into admin positions and get paid much more. Teachers aren’t underpaid
