There are many assessments that are used by Human Resources departments in screening applicants. Some jobs require high costs for recruitment, training and retention. Organizations want to maximize effectiveness in recruiting by screening out or screening in applicants with defined abilities, knowledge and behavior. Exit interviews of police officers in thousands of departments for many years has found a strong correlation with the IQ scores at the time of hiring and failure to remain as employees. Employees with Initial IQ scores of greater than 105 with a standard deviation of 15 correlate with failure to remain as police officers. One strategy is to screen out applicants with scores above 105. Are we expecting too much of police officers when many can not comprehend oral communications of most of the population?

@rogerknights857 IQ testing is still LEGAL and is used all the time in HR staffing, hiring and promotion decisions. There is ONLY one group of people who are specifically identified as to NOT be assessed by an IQ test. I will not say who this group is for obvios reasons. Read "The Bell Curve" for a possible answer. The simplest way to avoid this issue is to NOT SPECIFICALLY use an instrument titled "IQ" test. It is as simple as that. For example" SAT's scores have a high correlation with general IQ and crystallized IQ
