I do not have any dog in this fight. I am not religious and am not ethnically related to either party. I have my personal experiences. Many years ago, when I was in college ( Science degree) I had 5 roommates, all of them were students and former IDF soldiers ( 3 months period) . They made no hate statements to me. I heard the hatred that each of them expressed for Palestinians. It was pure evil. I thought it curious that each of them was working for an "advanced" MFA degree in Fine Art, but all of them had a disdain for "art" and bragged they had zero art talent or education. I asked them why? ( Were they lying? why?) They advised me I was "stupid" because I did not understand that each of them was a degreed ENGINEER and could only qualify as a VISA student to the USA because of the very low academic undergraduate degree requirements in the Art Major. I was there. I saw their paintings including portraits of each other that they made and laughed at. Most of the time they did not speak English. One of them told me he was working for a US defense company. All of them had lots of money. Students with lots of Cash? I started to think they might be spies but had no other information. After a few months I moved on with my life but always wondered why these former IDF soldiers ( 20's -30) were in the USA for reasons of an "Advanced degree" ( MFA) in Art? It looked suspicious. Why bring all this hatred to the USA? They were braggarts.
