  1. I agree that many Americans believe that it was the USA that defeated the German military. The Battle of Stalingrad demonstrated both the evil of Joseph Stalin who ordered the shooting of any Soviet soldier in that battle for taking one step backward and at the same time the absolute heroism and military action performed by the women who did everything they could to repel the German military. This battle was the greatest defeat of the Nazis during WWII. Today, the monument "Heroes to the Battle of Stalingrad" a 279 feet tall statue of a woman Soviet soldier. "The Motherland Calls".   2.  @jamallabarge2665  I have interviewed US soldiers who were captured by the German soldiers. Soldiers ( all sides of a conflict) don't like talking about the evil that they experienced ( shooting airman parachuting from their diving plane), torture, the Stalags and Gulags.
