I am not privileged and do not receive any tax breaks. My earned income is all I have. However I was born am intelligent ( above IQ 90) and I am also diligent and productive in all of the many low skill jobs I have worked. I NEVER look down on any job that receives a paycheck. One result, is that some might say I have assets that places me in the top 1 %. Why is that? I am very frugal. I am old enough to receive Social Security benefits but I refuse to be dependent on anyone but myself. I pay for my own private medical insurance premiums and avoid receiving any government benefit. I most likely have never completed a census questionaire and do not vote. I see all political parties as selfish orgfanizations each trying to extract government benefits for themselves. My active income is less than $5,000 per year while the many "homeless" I have interviewed brag about their government handouts providing them with more annual income and FREE benefits than I have have ever had. If I canbe a virtual millionaire ( banks no longer pay usable interest). A homeless with one million doillars cash in an FDIC bank savings account does not earn enough interest to produce more than one "happy meal" per week. Why is this? You sound like you are crying for help in your University job. Quit and be independent like me and you will be happy and have more freedom than you can imagine. I can NEVER be fired for not singing the politically correct songs of the day. This is real freedom. I give my opinion when asked. My pronouns are "Live Free or Die" and "Don't Tread on Me".

@fritzforsthoefel8031 In my experience, if you look at any non-government job. The employing organization Must receive an economic benefit of at least 4.5 times the total cost of having that employee ( sick leave, Workers comp insurance, unemployment insurance, FWH, SS contribution, FUTA taxes, state income takes, SDI, liability insurance, etc etc. As an employee in a job that must be prroductive, maximize your daily productivity and you will be noticed. This employee attitude is rare and you can get all the work and pay as long as you remain productive. This has worked for me in all types of jobs. I remain if I get the pay I need. I leave quickly for more pay. Superviros will quickly recognize this since they need you to make more money for them.

@jodylynn840 Are you implying that most Americans are incompetent and unproductive? If you are employed, I wonder what kind of job you have? Do you want fries with this? Or? If you are not employed think about the many benefits you have that you did not earn. Others must pick up the slack just for you.

@DonnieIsNotAmerican Cry me a river. I have had a few bumps in life. Each time I was "homeless", but I just persevered until I could fight a new round. Winning! Very few of those I met "on the street" were focused on success instead if failure and victim-hood. Is that one reason for failure..or success? Life is beautiful from here. Work and prove what you can do. Or you can wallow in misery and excuses and blame those who are active and productive for your failures. Take the "Red pill" and enjoy life.

@DonnieIsNotAmerican You are speculating about the source of my wealth. #1) I never trust the Financial Industry. I no longer invest in any stocks. I also no longer buy bonds. How did I earn my money? BY MANUAL LABOR. Who did I work for ? Individuals who needed work to be done and got tired of hearing excuses. I rarely worked as an employee for organizations. I am not a sycophant. I tell it like it is from my experience and knowledge ie TRUE freedom of speech. I have been FIRED by individuals and immediately rehired at a higher pay because they NEEDED a worker who got the iob done quickly and thoroughly. From barely minimum wage to over $100/hr. They just MUST HAVE THE WORK DONE TODAY...no talking, excuses, explaining or reasons. When I was a kid I was working in a warehouse and hired to hand load and stack unpalletized products in freight cars. I was in trouble the FIRST day because I actually did the work for which I was hired. Even the supervisor told me to slow down. Luckily for me a VIP observed me working and within days they had me doing higher level work, at much higher pay. That was lesson number One. As long as you as a worker is diligent and productive AND the job MUST BE DONE (not a pretend, fake, "ethnicity hire" or government job) YOU WILL BE IN DEMAND. WHEN I hire people to work for me I look for diligence and a high level of achievement motivation. THIS IS RARE among US workers. It is all about "me" and my "social benefits" . The last crew I hired I tipped each worker with hundred dollar bills in addition to their excellent pay. What's wrong with this? I have a line of real workers begging to work for me. What about their "rights" or Union memberships? Most are in labor unions but actually want to work as men tend to want to do. Am I exploiting them? Why do they come back for more "punishment"? The only other rules have is HONESTY always and Greed will get you fired. I pay what the work is worth to me. Not worth hiring then I do the work.

@DonnieIsNotAmerican Who is suffering what consequences? One of my former workers just emailed me and wants more work! He must be one of those abused employees? I just looked him up on my calendar and realized I paid him an average of over $2,000/day! I do not have "lunch or break times", hours of work or sick pay. But somehow he wants MORE work under my selfish supervision and management. If he continues to be productive he will continue to have work. When his work is no longer valuable TO ME, I will hire another, and he KNOWS THAT. Do you earn $2,000 per day? Why Not? If I had the skill and experience I would do it myself but I do not. I accept ZERO errors in finished work just as I perform work for others. One day I walked through the job site and noticed something very small. He saw me, and immediately apologized and rectified the issue. When the job was complete I thought everything was fine. A few days later, I heard the dogs barking and found out he had returned after he was paid. Why? He was adding "finishing touches" to make his completed work look better than I thought it could be. I told him he had already been paid for his work. He responded he could not sleep if he knew he could have done a better job. He came back and surprised me with an even better finished product. He did not want any money for this additional work. It sounds like he is a happy camper? I forgot he may be part of a "protected class". If he wanted to vote, he told me he is a Trump supporter and will never buy another can of Bud Light. ROFL. He is experiencing FREEDOM to work or not.

@DonnieIsNotAmerican I own my own Artesian wells, so no water issues here. I compost and never use "toilet paper instead Bidets are used. My electricity is 100% solar. I grow most of my own produce and do not fly around in my private jet aircraft polluting the environment like ALL of the top Democrat leaders Gore, Obama, Biden etc etc). I have multiple banks for FDIC insured savings deposits of my cash earnings ONLY. A maximum of $ 250k/account. Cash is still legal. I don't use plastic or write checks. I despise insurance companies, loan companies and most mortgage companies. Where are the perp walks for these criminals when they violate the law? IMHO the FHA and the GSE's have a strong effect at keeping people from attaining wealth. It is also responsible for the high rate of house price increases. If mortgages were limited to ten years and only conventional mortgages were allowed ( 20% down payments), more people would own homes and there would be very few foreclosures. House prices would again become stable ( no more OPM interest and the many middlemen who extract benefits from buyers and sellers). Banks hate cash buyers and only want DEBTORS they can make money off through usery and high interest.

The answer could be Preparedness. Water, food, clothing shelter and a plan seems to work. My meals today ( except dairy and produce) were frozen 48 months ago. I became a prepper late when "the C" was driving people nutso. Anyone can do this.

Please read my comment above ( I have accumulated less than 5 million USD). Most rests in canvas bags and is never invested in our crooked stock and bond markets. I do not trust Gold as well. As long as cash is legal I am will remain in the USA. If funny money ( cryptolies) is required I will leave and live like a king somewhere else.

Food banks? Why? Today's meals are from food I froze 48 months ago. I do get fresh dairy and produce daily (free). No guv-ment for me. Most of the funds go to the Guv-ment employees who play house with the money. Visit any government office and WATCH employees pretending to be productive. Many don't even try that.

@fritzforsthoefel8031 I do NOT LOVE money or power!! I only want FREEDOM that you get from NOT paying debts and minmimizing paying taxes. If I do not buy I pay no sales taxes. I do not invest so I pay no income taxes. My income is very low which keeps me in a tax bracket so low that I do not even have to file my low income. I pay lots of money to a tax attorney to avoid taxes. At least the etx attorney is doing something, instead of being an advocate for laziness as a government employee.

@fritzforsthoefel8031 I learn this every day. My yearly income is below the poverty level yet I am worth over 5 million dollars ( mostly liquid and NO investments). Why am I successful? I am a cheapskate and just bought my first smartphone! If I am alive and not sleeping I work as productively as possible. Productive workers at any level are RARE so when a suprevisor must have the job done TODAY with no excuses they find me. Even though I have assets I am just comfortable and still a cheapskate. Fast food? What is that? New clothes and shoes? Why if I am comfortable with the old clothes. People give me the stuff that they don't want because it is last years model, style, color. When I see street bums I see excuses and laziness. Just start working PRODUCTIVELY ( not some welfare or government pretend job) and the money will find you.

I have been homeless a few times in my life. I now have an ample lifestyle and I have earned every penny of it. I found that real freedom is earned! I have zero debts and that is my reward and my freedom. How many 'bosses" do you work for each month? I suggest working for YOU first. Knock on some doors and start by selling pencils or your brilliant thoughts, opinions and ideas that will help others.

@sourpatchkid394 I started by trying a few low skill jobs like picking up trash! Do not fall into the trap of spending the few dollars that you earn on non essentials. My number one expense was rent, so I searched for the least wanted areas where no one wanted to live. Next I found other workers like myself you were looking for the same and worked close by so we could share transportation costs. As long as you ONLY associate with highly motivated and productive and responsible people you are on the way to lowering your living and transportation expenses. Having a responsible roommate can help. Ask yourself what your are doing when you are not working. I found second and third part time jobs to increase my income. Repeat and always be productive and you are on your way to success. Most non government employers are always searching for employees who can help them save money, keep money and not spend money on wasted effort. This is rare from the perspective of employers. So be the employee that they need and you will be paid well. Avoid any jobs where you are not required to be productive examples include most government jobs. If you always exhibit a high level of achievement motivation you will always have jobs available to work. Many workers avoid responsibility and seek jobs with high pay and benefits that pay a salary no matter if they are productive or not.

@sourpatchkid394 I have never been "connected" with anyone who had economic power so why am I successful? I work smarter and am more productive than coworkers doing the same work. I have worked in dozens of different low and high skilled jobs and found the key to my happiness and income was finding a job where I could help my employer make more profit. In one minimum wage job I was able to surpass the income of my boss and eventually out compete him on jobs. From minimum wage with no benefits ( health insurance, no 401K pensions, no sick pay, no vacation pay, no paid holidays. I do not need these "benefits" since I make enough to live a good life without them. I hired an attorney and an accountant and fund my own full benefit retirement plan. I hire subcontractors ( private firms) for all work I do not want to do. These subcontractors are not employees and I am not responsible for their social welfare. If they are NOT productive and are not earning me more money they are no longer required. The firm is contractually "fired" not an "employee" ( no UI or W/C benefits as well). When I find a "good one" I pay them very well as long as they bring me 5 times my expenses for all work. What is evil about being productive? The lazy, the excuse whiners or incompetent hate this.

@fritzforsthoefel8031 It does not matter what I think. The free market makes that determination. I earn much more than many physicians yet I am in a low skilled occupation. So what? Does that make me a better person? No. Can I earn more money using fewer hours? Yes! But physicians can save lives and help patients with their health. I can not. But I do earn more money than many physicians in my low skilled occupation.

My advice is you can earn more money by not spending what little you have. Most of my increase is assets is via passive strategies. I do not like cash, income or anything that smells like employment.

Why should anyone receive benefits? As long as you are healthy what can hold you back? I have been absolute broke-living in vacant apartments or cars and am back on the mountain. My problems were based on incorrect thinking and behavior.

@mariondean8499 Last few years? Not a gamer. Maybe that's why I have a few shillings. I have a hobby where I build gamer machines for gamers, mostly portable Mini ITX boxes. It is lucrative.

Typical of the administrative class. A snob! I learned that there is no work that is "below" me. Any activity that yields a benefit from grave digging to sewer pumping is better than speculating about the lives of workers.
