Sounds like Darwin! :D Perhaps you'll find a balance between over doing it and not enough. Good news on getting rid of the mouse. The last place we lived (Long Beach, CA) our townhouse was on the alley, as were everyone's trash. Needless to say, we got mice. One year it was over a dozen. I just went to the nearest hardware store and got the cheap wood ones. Peanut butter was our best bait. We tried the live trap with no luck. Like you, the sticky traps sound horrid, Poison is a no go because not only will they crawl into your walls to die and stink the joint up, but if an owl or cat or whatever, eats them, it's a nightmare. But the cheap wood ones always resulted in quick painless endings to the problem. Here in Yucca Valley, we haven't had any - there are almost a dozen cats wandering who travel the neighborhood and none of us have had either rats or mice. I call that a suxcess.
