In fairness to the machinists the downed planes performed as designed. There was nothing wrong with the manufacturing or assembly. Door bolts are unforgivable. Not outing the person who still has the bolts is crminal.

@WhoNuGu i work too and i sympathize. However. An airplane can be manufactured anywhere. Seattle, south carolina, india. My gap of understanding is that labor thinks they are competing with management. In real life, labor competes with labor. Whats stopping boeing from moving out of seattle? Heres how i see this. Boeing overplayed its hand in the last negotiations. Machinists now have the strongest hand in modern history but theyve been pushed beyond rationality by both corporrate and their own broken worldviews. Its now machinists to overplay their hand. Machinists will win this round and its the last round they will ever win in seattle.

You understanf that 30000 employees arent the ceo right? Compare against other machinists. Some guy in india will 100% do your job for pennies on the dollar. Or south carolina. Get a grip. Also, best wishes. Hope it works out.

@WhoNuGu 2 simple questions "Is american labor overpaid?" "Should american jobs be exported overseas?" You have to reconcile that somehow.

@gregkisinger9142 thats their broken worldview. Government knows best. Good intentions will conquer all. Prices and money is made up.

@Weathernerd27 boeing hasnt kept up with inflation. This is a company that had no more chances and one of these machinists took 4 bolts home. The union continues to protect that person. I see very little public support here. I certainly dont support people who cant understand the difference between cry and earn.

@Weathernerd27 and you wanna talk big picture? Lets talk global machinist labor market. Dunce.

@Weathernerd27 everything you have said is a personal problem. Anyone who isnt braindead will tell you that politics have made Washington state unliveable and boeing is a bankrupt failed company. Do you listen? Somehow its on everyone but you to fix your job and cost of living problems. Sorry. Im not sympathetic at all.

You dont support labor. You support yourself. Be honest. If you supported labor, youd be fine with jobs moving to south carolina. Are those machinists not also labor? Indian machinists would be happy to take this work. Are they not "labor". The argument of labor is price vs value, not fairness. Youre not any more interested in "fairness" than anyone else.
