  2. Helix - has better documentation to configure and learn the editor. Helix - has better integration of the functionalities inside it Helix - has better motions (although that's highly subjective) Helix - has a smoother overall experience and feel to it. Helix - has a simpler configuration. Vim/Neovim Vim - Is often builtin any linux distro so you don't have to install it. Vim - Vanilla is okay. Vim - has way more customisation. Vim - has a larger community. Vim - Keybindings are often first/second class citizen in other IDE's. Vim - has very mnemonic keybindings. Overall Helix just works and it's a super reliable and empowering editor, Vim is fine but having started on Vim and Neovim and migrated to Helix to me there is no looking back, It's IMHO the superior editor, for people who don't want to waste their time on tinkering their config too much, You still have plenty of oportunity to customize helix keybindings and create very nice macros and in the future It's going to be even better.
