I personally believe we are very far from AGI. If you look at our estimated brain specs. Our brains have about one exaflop of computing power, an estimated 2 petabyte of storage, and our brain is able to process 11mb/s of inputs. Meanwhile our code weights less than a few dozen mb. Those stats are obviously just rough estimates that you can find online. But point being that even the most advanced models in existence today don't even reach the grain of sand stuck under our feet. As of today the absolute most powerful supercomputer has your grandma's brain power. The biggest models that exist currently need at best a large cluster of h100 to run, this is decades behind what our brains are capable of.

@fabianletsch1354 I agree with all of it except for recommendation, unless you are doing some very very popular code, you don't get good completion. I work in embedded software, my job is to make an API around magic numbers, there is no AI that's currently able to help me at all outside of discussing high level design stuff, and using it to find stuff in RFC documents. But no the completion is a use case that only applies to a certain kind of code.
