  1.  @jonne7725  that's a myth perpetrated because of the fact that pines are tolerant of overly acidic/ overly alkaline soils that no other plants can grow in. pine needles and pine forests dont change the soil chemistry. the soil was already poor.

  2. false. pine needles are neutral. conifers tend to grow where soil is already to acidic for anything else. which is why conifer forests tend to be very acidic.

  3. palm leaves are normally shaped like a feather. they go with the wind instead of resisting it. palms are also elastic they aren't woody solid trees so they can be pushed and bent by hurricane level winds and not break

  4. plenty of pines here in dry california. and their cousins junipers grow all over the desert and are planted as shade trees and wing breakers on the highways to stop the sand.
