  32. A little bit of context. After the collapse of the USSR Europe believed it could live in peaceful coexistence with Russia. That look to be so in the first decade. leading to the withdrawal of US troops from Europe and cuts in European defense spending. You cannot build an army in a year. It's not like tanks are on the shelf ready to be bought. Poland ordered 500 HIMARS systems. Do you really think the US can deliver them in a year? I agree that 5 years is too long especially when you consider that the US could pull out of NATO within two years if things there really go sideways. So yes, it's all hands on deck with an enemy in the east and a wavering support from the west.
