  2. I doubt that the U.S. will ever be an ally again considering its hostility towards Europe. Rearming Europe will take time as the U.S. defense industry is no longer an option for Europe. Europe should not end up in the position Ukraine is in now where the U.S. dictates how its weapons are being used or worse not. What if the U.S. refuses to deliver parts for the F35 just because Trump has a tantrum. So that 800 billion will mostly be spend to boost Europe's own defense industry. Also its better to spend more money on Ukraine's own defense industry. It already produces 30% of the weapons it needs and this should be increased so Ukraine can build and maintain a large army.
