@janbo8331 You must have been sleeping during these times. The U.S. with allies won the war in Iraq and Afghanistan was simply abandoned.

These separatists tactics will not fly any more. Neither will fake referenda. NATO will not allow a landlocked Ukraine. It's connection is vital for the transportation of wheat to Africa and the Middle-East. This conflict already creates food shortages and famine in Africa. It will continue support to Ukraine and train them until Russia is at least driven back to the situation of before this conflict. The West has committed itself to make sure Russia will loose this war no matter how much Russia throws at Ukraine.

Facts don't have opinions.

So there will be a Kurdistan?

Europe has undergone substantial changes. It's not the Europe it was a century ago. The European countries know that only true cooperation they will survive. The Russian threat has proven that ones more. Not only Germany has increased it's budget for defence. The goal should be to have a combined military force that's able to defend Europe without the assistance of the US.

Afghanistan is just a failed state.

It appears that Russia is living in a parallel reality. This expansion is a threat to Europe. It's essential that Ukraine wins this war and to secure the natural resources in the east and the access to the Black Sea. So we should increase support to Ukraine and hugely increase permanent NATO presence in the eastern countries so Russia cannot commit more of it's army in Ukraine without making itself vulnerable. In the beginning of this century Russia seemed to be on the path of peaceful and prosperous coexistence with the rest of Europe. Now they are on a destructive path. People are dying for this delusional idea of a madman. We've all seen it before here in Europe. And we've all seen the misery it brought.

But the U.S. is losing the war even before it started.

@fullmetaltheorist Even if that would be completely on Syrian soil?

@fullmetaltheorist I was under the impression that it was because they wanted part of Turkey as Kurdistan? If they would settle with Northern Syria would that not solve the Kurdish problem in Turkey?
