@disabled9502 Ashta bhariya = 8 wives and all those are goddesses of different avatar and some are other goddess like river yamuna. 16000 are not wives. 16000 were held captive by narkasura. They were chastised raped during the captive. Krishna just freed them off from narkasura captive. After that nobody accept those ladies into the society. So each one of them wanted Krishna as her husband. So Krishna expand to 16000 Krishnas and each 16000 wife had per Krishna in each palaces. But those gopies were actually angels of different heavenly kingdom who took birth in earth to serve krishna during his mission in this world. Each age had different customs. For eg marring more than 1 wife by kings was not immoral back in that age. Krishna was born into a kings dynasty. So he married many queens as a human to execute his responsibilities in the society back at that time. This is vishnu in Krishna avatar. Previous to this avatar is Rama avatar. There he had only 1 wife. Previous to that is varaha avatar and so on. Each avatar in each new age with each wife are all taken to save earth off evil. Krishna is vishnu. When vishnu took Krishna avatar in earth, vishnu was personally present in his heavenly abodes with his different expansions. Sex was not condemned like of this age. This age is known as age of kali the dark age. In this age human consciousness level degrades to low level to lowest level by time. So here in this age sex is done in order to gratify gross senses unlike that age that was clear off darkness or contamination. Back in that age sex was done only to make a child between husband and wife. But in this age you want to enjoy sex so you do it with licence ie marriage. Here morality is went down because of the influence of this dark age. In this age women is overlooked unlike in that age were women had all freedom to marry more than 1 husband. Draupadhi had 5 husbands. Whereas in this age if a women marry more than 1 husband she is chastised but a man is allowed to do whatever he wants. This is the level of contamination of human consciousness in this dark age. Morality declines from low to lowest levels as this dark age progress. Krishna came as human. He did not preach he was God. Whenever he takes avatar he also follows the law of this world. He did not breach the rules of law. But sometimes to eliminate evil he had to personally use his powers to keep aside the law of this world at times. For eg he used his celestial weapon sudarshana to delay sun set to eliminate someone in order to fulfill his virtual justice ie eliminate evil of the face of earth thus reduce burdens of earth goddess etc and by doing so he accepts the karma of law of this world, because without accepting the karma then his final mission to end his own avatar and welcome the upcoming ages will not happen. There should be a destruction for a new creation. Sex. The gods doesn enjoy sex because the qualities of bliss in that world is above the qualities of happiness/ emotions of this world which is full of illusion. Sex is illusion. But as a human being we people of this dark age of kali we cannot live without it. So a moral licence way is marriage. The gods had to stoop down to take an incarnation. There are "qualities" of consciousness level associated while they stoop down to take avatars. When God himself takes incarnation in earth he himself balance and associates with darkness in order to save us. Because we are in dark level of consciousness. So if God doesn't stoop down to our level then automatically the law of nature of this world gets violated even when they take incarnation. Thus they take incarnation out of pure kindness where they sacrifice themselves for our benifit to clear us off ignorance of the cycles of birth and death and to tell us more about this temporary illusional world. They are present in pureness and pure bliss untouched from that of ours in the heavenly above which is devoid of sexual desire even while they were executing responsibilities in incarnation forms. There in the heavenly abodes the quality of consciousness is above darkness/ignorance mode devoid of worldly pleasures or illusional happiness of this world. Sexual life is temporary. Krishna had 15000 wives that he saved from chastity is reality which you accept. But that same Krishna also told not to be attached with worldly pleasure/ emotions and worldly duties throughout the bhagavatha purana which you did not mention how about that?
