  2. Que? College basketball is an American thing. Simon is British and lives, as far as I know, in Prague. US college basketball really isn't big outside the US.

  5. Well the exact nature of the problem with the crown isn't clear given time and dramatic licence. It may well have been an adulterated alloy, or the whole story may be apocryphal. Who knows?

  6.  @dogphlap6749  Good insight. I vaguely remember this too, from when I was in school, but will we ever know? There are likely many more deeply interesting inventions that will be discovered as having appeared earlier.
